USF ALPHABET EXHIBITION POSTER

USF Alphabet Exhibition Poster

about this design.

This was one of my first posters and it remains one of my favorites just because of the striking image of the Z in the middle and my methodology for creating this image itself.

This was done for the USF Alphabet Exhibition, different design classes took letters from the alphabet and created their own design to represent that letter, using that letter in the poster. It’s based on the Alphabet Exhibition with artists like Michael Beirut, Paula Scher, and Seymour Chwast.

The process behind this project was actually quite fun. I had to photograph my own sweatshirt in order to get a high quality photo of a zipper in just the position I wanted it. The “Z” was the next aspect that I did, I wanted to emulate the pendant on a zipper, so I did a lot of chrome effects on the text itself and added a lens flare to make it really pop off the paper. I chose the color of a sea foam green because it felt really reminiscent of that era where a zipper/zip-up hoodie like this might have been super popular.
