This was a project done for my Graphic Design Theory class, we focused on creating a new logo and 3 wine labels for the 3 basic wines, Rose, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The winery is named Vinland Winery, its located in Fort Wayne and the theme for it is based on Nordic culture, mainly vikings. For my designs I wanted to have something that really focused on that Nordic culture and the history Vikings. The typical imagery you see of Vikings are fierce warriors with swords and other weaponry, I thought the sword was the most fitting iconography for the logo. My font is a Nordic based font, it gives that ancient feel that this design needs. For the label, I wanted it to be on an old looking textured paper, almost like a dead sea scroll. The illustration of the sword features intricate lacing in the hand guard of the sword. It’s covered in grapes, corresponding to the flavor of wine. The text is big to fill up the space but also fits very nicely with eachother.
